Sizes — Privacy
Sizes has no account, no login and no server of its own. Your sizes, your photographs and your measurements are written to your iPhone and stay there.
What never leaves your phone
- Every size you save, for every category and every person.
- Every photograph you take of a pair you own, and any photograph used to measure a foot.
- Every measurement worked out from those photographs.
- The people you add, and the names you give them.
These live in the app's own storage on the device, shared only with the Sizes widget through a private container. They are included in your encrypted iPhone backup if you make one. We have no copy and no way to obtain one.
The camera and photo library permissions exist for one reason each: to photograph a foot in order to measure it, and to attach a picture to a pair you own. Photographs are measured on the iPhone. None is uploaded anywhere.
What does leave, and to whom
Three services, none of which receives anything that identifies you.
Payments — Apple and RevenueCat
Apple takes the payment; we never see a card, a name or an address. RevenueCat manages the subscription on our behalf and receives a random identifier generated on your device, together with the purchase receipt Apple issues, so the app knows whether you are a subscriber. That identifier is not linked to your Apple Account, your email or anything else about you.
Which paywall you were shown — Superwall
The screen that offers the subscription is served by Superwall, which receives its own random identifier and the fact that a given screen was shown, dismissed or bought from. It is how we learn whether an offer is understood. It carries nothing about your sizes or your photographs.
Whether features get reached — TelemetryDeck
A short list of counts, sent only from App Store builds, so we can tell whether anyone reaches a feature before we spend a month improving it. A signal earns its place only if it can change a decision.
- A size was saved. A pair was added. Onboarding finished.
- A paywall was shown, and whether a purchase completed, failed or was restored.
TelemetryDeck is a German company and processes in the European Union. It does not receive an identifier that persists across reinstalls, and it never receives a size, a measurement, a photograph, a name or a location. Builds run from Xcode and through TestFlight send nothing at all.
What Sizes does not do
- No advertising, and no advertising identifier.
- No tracking across other apps or websites, and no data broker.
- No sale or sharing of personal information, under any definition.
- No location, no contacts, no calendar, no microphone.
Your rights
Because there is no account, most of what you own is already in your hands: deleting a size, a photograph or a person removes it, and deleting the app removes everything at once. For the random identifiers held by RevenueCat, Superwall and TelemetryDeck, write to us and we will have them erased — tell us roughly when you installed the app, since that is all we have to go on.
Under the GDPR you may also object to the counts described above. They are collected on the basis of our legitimate interest in knowing whether the app works.
Children
Sizes is not directed at children under 13, and asks for nothing that would identify one. A child's shoe size can be saved as one of the people in the app; like every other size, it stays on the device.
Changes
This page changes when the app does, and the date at the top changes with it.
